YWAM Heredia, Costa Rica:
The GREEN Base "Knowing God and Caring for His Creation"
We are located in Los Angeles de San Rafael de Heredia. The property is on the northern hills of the Central Valley and sits at about 4,500 feet above sea level. It is 6 acres of cypress, fruit trees, and pasture. We have goats, chickens and an organic farm which provides us with food and many learning opportunities. The average temperature here is 72ºF and we get about 100 inches of rain per year. We currently have capacity for teams of up to 50 people and hope to be able to house as many as 200 in the near future.
Ours training schools are accredited with the University of the Nations. For many Central Americans the cost to travel and difficulty obtaining visas makes it almost impossible for them to go to other countries to study. A campus right in the heart of Central America puts it within $100 and a one day bus ride for most students. Our goal is to inspire our students to have a passion for the lost and to equip them with the tools to reach them. We also teach them to minister to the whole man, body, soul and spirit. To minister not only to their spiritual needs but also to provide practical assistance for their physical needs such as clean water, hygiene, sanitation and sustainable agriculture.
